It's getting summer - 5 inch Sandals barefeet

high heels sandals
It's getting really warm outside and the time where I can wear high heeled sandals barefeet and mini-skirts (finally) begins again. That's the reason why I kept my feet in shape during the winter ;-)
It's even warm enough for going out at night without stockings and put on my strappy sandals barefeet. Here are a few photos wheen I've been wearing my 5 inch sandals with the metal heel. They fit perfectly to my new brown - very short - mini-skirt and the light blue top. As the nails are visible in sandals, nailpolish is getting more important now in summer, so i got my nails done in french-style. If you wonder about the small waist - I wear a corset under the top ;-). Corset and High Heels - a perfect combination.

update:
8 photos of this high heels photoshooting are now available in high resolution (~1600x1200).

Last Night...

...was AMAZING! The girls and I went and saw Sex and The City in awesome style... meaning, we were drunk. haha.
We went to dinner first and had a total of 13 martinis and 10 shots. Then it was off to the theater where we waited in a massive line filled with girls and women and even a few guys. It was a pretty amazing sight. I don't think I've ever seen that many girls in my life!
The movie was awesome. I loved it! I totally annoyed my best friend Sascha by yelling out the names of the designers of every shoe that passed by on the screen. It was pretty hilarious.

Anyway, I totally recommend it to any SATC lovers. It wont disappoint. CHEERS!

In Honor of Tonight's Opening of Sex And The City!

Here are some of my very favorite Carrie pics:

This is one of my very favorite outfits Carrie ever wore! I love all the color and the girlyness of it all. L-O-V-E the shoes too!

Remember these shoes!? "Hello Lover!"... These were the the first Christian Louboutins I'd ever seen. I've never been the same since ;)

Aaaah... A girl who can understand my obsession with shoes! I always had a soft spot for Carrie. She's a shoe girl, and any friend of shoes is a friend of mine. ;)

weird...

So I remember these sandals from a few years ago, so I guess Giuseppe Zanotti loves them so much he made them again. I didn't like them then and I don't like them now. I mean, who wants to wear a dead fish on their feet? And for $795 none the less. I'm not a big fan of shiny rhinestone shoes. It's all too Stuart Weitzman for my liking. Blah.
I dunno, am I missing something here?? Does anyone like this?

On a side note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BENJAMIN! You are the best husband that ever husbanded. ;) I'm so lucky.

So Cute!

So check out these adorable canvas wedges by Castaner! They're so cute and right for Summer. I was so excited when I saw these because I actually went to shoe design school in Milan with the guy who's father started the company. Castaner is their family name, and the guy I went to school with, Rafael, was studying design in order to carry on the family business. How cool is that!?

Castaner has been credited as the company responsible for bringing the espadrille to fashion. In the mid-sixties YSL featured a pair of Castaner's high heeled espadrilles on their runway. Before that, espadrilles were considered a country folk shoe. Pretty awesome, huh?

Wherefore Art Thou, NES?!

I know, I know! I've been very quiet lately but that's because Actual Work has crept in to steal my time away from you and the shoes. Rest assured though that I have been researching for future posts and for some other projects that I'll tell you about as and when they happen.

In the meantime why not check out some of my favourite blogs listed to your right (if it helps, you can imagine the flight attendant arm motion) to help keep you entertained.

Ok, ONE More Post Before I Go to Bed...

'cause you know I'm not posting tomorrow. I'll be too busy pigging out on BBQ.

So I got a question from an anonymous blog reader about how many pairs of shoes I own. So I decided to answer in a post.

anonymous said...
Just curious, how many pairs of shoes do you own?
I'm sure your collection surpasses mine by millions lol!

Ok, so my answer is that I'm not sure. The last time I counted was over a year ago and I was at about 200. I've moved since then and have a few (6-7) large boxes filled with shoes with fates waiting to be determined. Do I keep them? Do I give them to those who could give them a better life? Those who would love and appreciate them more than I could?
I'm thinking of selling them. Most of them anyway. I have too many, if there is such a thing. That picture up top is of my old shoe closet in my condo, before I was married. It was 300 sq ft. of shoes. I was no Imelda Marcos, but it was amazing. Now, there's a lot less room and it's time to make some sacrifices.

Anyway, when I decide to put them up I'll let you all have first dibs. I'm an 8 1/2, sometimes 9. I've got some goodies. ;)

Lookie Lookie...

So back to Bakers one more time. SJP has been seen running around the set of SATC in this awesome Dior shoe and whadda ya know, Bakers has it covered already. And for only $69.95.

These look like they might be super cheap looking in person. It says that it's leather though, so maybe not? Anyway- just wanted to end the weekend with a nice little treat. Oh but WAIT! It's a long weekend! Yippee! Even better treat.

Enjoy your holiday :)

Another Blatant Knockoff...

It's incredible that I didn't know about all this before.  Maybe I did know and I just turned a blind eye? I mean, considering that our sister company who shares an office building with us makes shoes for Bakers, I had to have known, right?

This is a complete knockoff of my Spring favorite... the YSL Tribute sandal. I finally broke down and bought them in navy patent btw... I must have bad shoe karma! Seriously you guys. This shoe is almost totally indistinguishable as a knockoff, other than the thick rubber outsole (gross)whick you won't find on the original. Unlike with the Louboutin knockoffs, there is no signature red sole to separate the real from the fake.

I can't decide! Is this a good thing? At only $79.95 is this the way to bring high fashion footwear to the masses? Is this how to get them out of crocs and Payless shoes? Or is this just effing it up for those of us who appreciate a well made, overpriced, beautiful designer shoe???

I'm starting to feel dizzy with all this designer knock-offery. I think I need to sit down.

My Sandal of the Day...

I just bought these on Wednesday and wore them today for the first time. I LOVE these sandals! The color is a perfect neutral that goes with anything and the dark brown snake on the insole makes it sexy and sophisticated. This may become my favorite sandal to wear all summer.

It's funny because I thought these were cute, but not really my style... until of course I saw miss Gwen Stefani wearing them in a paparazi shot and I realized how amazing they look. Hahaha! I'm so lame. Oh well. Hey, at least Gwen wears the shoes of her namesake, unlike OTHER celebs with their own shoe lines. Eh-hem.

Anyway, you can find them on line or in stores at Nordstrom. I highly recommend them. :) I'm pretty sure Gwen does too.

ALDO gets it...

Here we go again! I found some more super cute, super wallet-friendly shoes. I was looking at ALDO again and I found these gems. They look a lot like my Christian Louboutin slingbacks! And what a sexy nude patent color. Wow. At $74.98 it's a no-brainer.

I'll have to see how my Nine West shoes feel and fit before I buy any more cheap shoes. I'm a little weary to be honest. Is that lame? Am I a shoe snob??

You Guys Have to See This...

The Shoe Girl Blog reader Margaret just sent this over to me and I just have to share with you guys!

The wonderful people who brought us Crocs have decided to become shoe designers. Yep... they've launched a "fashion" line called YOU by crocs. According to this article in the Wall Street Journal, they launched it a year ago, but this is the first I've heard of it.

Now I'd be lying if I said they were all hideous.  There are a couple of styles that I wouldn't kick out of bed, but still- crocs??? I just can't support them! I am surprised to see that they did an ok job. But then again, I am looking at their spring/summer collection which consists mostly of flat sandals and wedges, which aren't the hardest things to design.

I don't know. I hate comfort brands in general, especially designs by Taryn Rose which are SO ugly and are at a high end design price point. I mean, comfort at a low price I get. But $400+ on a shoe that looks like an orthopedic shoe with a mid-heel? No thanks.

I'm going to stick with a NO for this new brand, but that's just for me. I won't judge those who decide to wear them. I will however, continue to judge those of you who wear crocs... especially those who wear crocs with socks... although I'd like to think that none of MY readers would be caught dead in them. ;)

Maybe I Spoke Too Soon?

Ok so I'm kind of pissed off right now. As part of my new "buying cheaper shoes" experiment I was browsing Steve Madden's online store when I saw these. WTF? Direct knockoff of the Balenciaga boots... which I own thank-you-very-much Mr. Steve "I've served time in prison" Madden!!!

I'm sorry, I mean, getting a knockoff that looks almost as good as the real thing for like, a thousand dollars less is amazing- but it RUINS it for those with the real thing!! It's like, what's the point of having the real thing!? Obviously the Balenciaga boots have amazing details and hardware compared to this one, but still.

What do you guys think? Knockoff handbags are tacky as hell- unless of course you get a REALLY good one. Is it the same for shoes? Where do we draw the line?

Turning Over a New Leaf...

So, I've decided that in order to be a better wife through these difficult financial times, I should get over myself and take a peek at what's out there BESIDES overpriced designer shoes. I looked at many sites for the first time ever, including Nine West (where I made my first ever purchase!) and ALDO. Now, don't get me wrong... I still lust after my designer favorites, it's just that these are so much more practical!

I can't believe I'm writing this, but it's true. So check out this super cute wedge that I found at ALDO. ON SALE even. Crazy! A cute shoe under $100?? True story. These wedges are a recession friendly $79.98. How could hubby get mad at that? ;)

5 1/2 inch Oxford High Heels II

Oxford High Heels reloaded...
Wow - didn't expect so many nice emails of my high heels blog readers after my last posting with photos of my first oxford heels. Looks like I'm not the only one who really likes these High Heels. I like them because they are a little bit different then all my other high heeled shoes, and you don't see such high heels very often. And altough they are 5 1/2 inches high - they are much more comfortable to wear than they actually look like. Here are four more photos of me and my Oxford High Heels. This time with a black mini skirt and a white jacket. And this time not only the shoes ;-).
A lot of emails suggested for the next photos to wear these High Heels with fully fashioned seamed nylon stockings. Maybe you are lucky ;-).

New Layout...

You guys like?? Ben made me a new header and a new background but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the freaking background!!! So annoying.
Anybody have any tips for me?

Thanks! ;)

Fit Flops???

"When the FitFlop launched in London in 2007 it became an instant hit and sold 18,000 pairs in three days. These sporty go-anywhere sandals - the brainchild of Bliss founder Marcia Kilgore and Dr. Dave Cook - are engineered to tone and trim your legs as you walk. Described as 'a flip flop with a built in gym,' fans of the innovative fitness footwear include Hollywood style-setter Mischa Barton." -net a porter

So what do YOU think about this "fit" footwear? Would you wear them if they really helped tone your legs??

My first oxford high heel pumps - first impressions

oxford style high heels
bare feet high heels

5 1/2 inch oxford high heel pumps - first impressions....

Here are some first photos of my new oxford style high heeled pumps. I just got these shoes yesterday - they really look very nice. Something different then my other high heels. These oxford style high heels are made of black leather and have again a 5 1/2 inch (14 cm) high heel. So I now own two shoes with such high heels. I was a very warm day, so I just put this shoes on bare feet. And, as far as I can tell already - these shoes are very comfortable as they are nearly boots. I really like them ;-). These three photos are just a first impression of my new pumps - will show you some more soon....

I Can't Believe I'm Doing This...

Remember those Balenciaga wedges we saw celebs rockin on red carpets? Well............... I found a pretty good knockoff at an unexpected place. I can't even believe I'm going to say this, but check out the Nine West version! I personally have never owned a pair of Nine West shoes, so this will be my first. They're only $89 too!!! Can't beat that ;)

They're backordered because the demand is so high. I believe it, these shoes are seriously cute and SO close to the original. Yippee!

Another One Bites the Dust...

Ok, one more bad shoe and then we'll get positive again. I've seen this shoe while out shopping and I just don't get it. I understand that designers are doing different and interesting things with heels, but this is just stupid. It looks weird and seems like it would be really uncomfortable! I'm ok with uncomfortable shoes in he form of high heels... I mean, I almost expect it- but in a one inch heel? No bueno. Especially from Jil Sander who I usually love.

Britain's Next Top Model: Walking Is Still An Issue And It Is Proven That Luxury Sports Cars Are Only For Men In A Mid Life Crisis

Ah BNTM. You're boring me. I'm sorry, but it's true. So far it has been one long stream of meh and bad posture. So much so that when my mum phoned in the middle I didn't really mind that I was paying more attention to her than you even though I'd normally tell her I'd phone her back. Apologies then if this is a bit all over the place.

Episode 4 and they finally had to do some close ups in a shoot for Jai Kudo glasses. Their brief was to unleash their inner Fierce! which some took to with aplomb, going for the full on "argh!" scream at the photographer. Some internalised it and predictably fell flat.

For some reason, there were three shoots this week and the next (which may have been the first) was for ASOS.com and a bit of a walking and styling exercise at the same time. The girls were given a rail of clothes and told to pick something that represented their style. Then of course, stand up straight and pose.

Miracle of miracles!! Aaron finally realised that her posture sucks monkey ass. At least she recognised it. Still didn't stop her from slouching into hunchback mode though. The most "ASOS-y" of the shots were from Charlotte, Rachael, Lauren and Stephanie. Then came some more walking and they all sucked. Someone won something I think. I'm not sure. Nor do I care.

I didn't catch who the final shoot was for but it involved sports cars that only men in the throes of a mid-life crisis and penis anxiety buy. Turns out the client was Max Mara for their SportMax diffusion line. No, I don't associate SportMax with fast cars either.

Obviously the twist, as Gerry delightfully informed them, was to get out of the car in a pretty dress while avoiding the Britney/Paris/LiLo/random Young Hollywood actress wannabe upskirt no pants shot. Given that this bunch are as co-ordinated as.... something that's not very co-ordinated, this proved to be an issue.

Gerry seemed to want to curl up and die while the delightfully suave Giorgio Guidotti from Max Mara seemed perplexed that he'd been given a such a motley crew to cast from. Rachael impressed him and got kisses. Poor Aaron got a flat out "Thank you but NO! I would NEVER book this girl!" (that's pretty much verbatim).

At judging, it was revealed that Charlotte had impressed the glasses people so much, they were actually going to book her to do actual proper work. Lisa was delighted and probably squeed a bit. Gerry and Huggy looked astounded.

The judging was on the SportMax shoot though and the photos were universally awful. Lisa was so surprised she questioned hair and makeup, the lighting and even the photographer. Sweets, could it just be that they really are that bad? None of them seem to have any awareness about their face or body. That's possibly an important thing to be aware of if you're a model n'est-ce pas?

The best out of a bad bunch was Charlotte again. Gerry wanted to send everyone home again and Huggy said some nasty things in Icelandic. Huggy got her wish though and Lauren was sent home even though she'd been practising at not being cross eyed. To be fair she wasn't cross eyed, just cross.

And thus it ended. Apparently next week, everyone agrees with me and dislikes Aaron and some other stuff happens.

To end on a positive, I LOVE Gerry. He's like a perfect mix of Nigel Barker sexiness and Janice bitchiness with Miz Jay casual scorn. There needs to be more of him.

Shoe Of The Day

Yesterday I mentioned that Topshop are good at doing casual trainer type shoes that can also be a bit glam. Typically when I looked online to find such an example, there were none apart from these!

But very lovely they are! Polka dot spots are always a good thing in my book - there's just something about them that's inherently retro. These satin pumps would look best with a full circle skirt and, considering how pricey the clothes have become, are a very reasonable £15. They also come in canvas if you want a less girly option.

Tempo spot lace up pump, £15 at Topshop

Don't Make the Indian Cry...

Why would you spend $550 or even $450 on a hideous shoe? It doesn't make sense, but those are the price tags. Seriously.

It makes me sad to see a designer brand making such yucky shoes. Both of these beasts come to you from "designer" Robert Clergerie. Thumbs down dude. Thumbs down.

Shoe Of The Day

Continuing the trainer theme, today's offering straddles the trainer/shoe divide and proves that you can have springy comfort and a casually dressy shoe all rolled into one. Faith do these very well indeed, as do Topshop (more on that tomorrow).

I love the very pale gold of this - it would work fantastically with a tan, skirt, dress, cropped trousers, everything. I'm not so keen on the silver - I think that it's a little bit harsh for what is essentially a summer shoe.

£15 is a pretty price too. Online and instore.

Pssst! I Have That Secret Too!

I'm completely addicted to PostSecret.

That's not the secret. The secret is that I too think "Would The Sartorialist photograph me wearing this?" when I get dressed in the morning. When I saw that I was glad that it wasn't just me!

I am completely addicted to The Sartorialist too. That's not a secret.

Sexy Python Peep Toes

No, I don't ONLY like Christian Louboutin... it's not my fault that he's so damn good at making sexy shoes. Example? These hot-like-fire super sexy python skin peep toes. You can't buy python in California, (it's illegal to sell any python products in CA) but you can buy them online at Brown's of London

Don't even ask 'cause NO... I won't be buying them. I'll stick them on my wish list to never be fulfilled. If I couldn't afford those cork babies, I surely can't afford these. At a whopping $1,300 I'll have to pass, but for some lucky ladies this shoe will be a great addition to their shoe closet.

I love how there are hints of pink with the gold. Pink and gold are such a pretty and girly combination. I love the mix of girly and sexy. It's very Lolita, don't you think? They also seem kind of retro Hollywood chic. I could see these on a blonde starlet with fire engine red lips wearing a long cream dress and a pink mink stole on the red carpet. Yes, I am mental.

Anyway, these sweet little girls put a smile on my face so I figured I'd share. I'm sure they'll be dancing around in my dreams like sticky sweet sugarplums. *sigh*

Shoe Dilemma...

Ok people, I need your help!! There's a shoe devil afoot!

I bought these amazing shoes that I just can not afford right now. They're kind of a rip off to be honest. Even for Louboutin. If you haven't seen them already, (check 'um out here) they are a super high florescent pink heel and double platform with a cork upper.
Now I've never been a huge fan of cork uppers before, but this one is just perfect. Super sexy and fun.

Now the dilemma. They just arrived at my doorstep from the nice people at FedEx. Do I keep them and suffer the financial kick in the ass... or do I do the "right thing" and return them?

Of all the addictions on Earth, WHY must I suffer from such an expensive one? I mean, according to Whitney Houston... crack is cheap. Maybe I'll look into it. I hear it does wonders for your figure.

Shoe Of The Day

Still on the trainer theme, you can't go wrong with a pair of DCs. Skate trainers work best under low slung boyfriend jeans and are so damn comfy you may regret going back to heels.

There's a seemingly endless combination of colours and patterns so it's a case of trawling through until you find one that suits you best. Or two. Or three...

These ones are $60 at Zappos. If your local skate shop doesn't have them, ask sweetly if they'll get a pair in for you.

Tacky? Fabulous? A Little of Both?

So, I always have mixed feelings about bold logo stuff. It seems like, I dunno... almost an overstatement. Like, LOOK! I'm wearing Chanel! Am I cool now!?

Ok ok, I know I'm a hypocrite because I'm not even going to pretend like I buy those Christian Louboutins for any reason other than the red sole. If it were the shape I was after I'd have gotten the Steve Madden knockoff, right? ;)

But I digress. I do think there is a difference between logo shoes and distinctive shoes. Most logo shoes look tacky to me but for some reason- I love this one. Maybe it's that it is so tacky that it goes back to fabulous? I dunno. It obviously screams Chanel but I think its in a bitchy, sassy way thats a fun play on fashion. What do you guys think?? Come on people, I'm ready for some comments. I'm not writing this blog for myself you know...

How To Get Round The "Sorry We Currently Do Not Ship Outside America" Nonsense

Ah America. Home to many good things, many bad things and some damn frustrating things. Namely the FAQ "Do you ship internationally?" and the FA "Sorry but we currently do not ship outside the United States and Territories."

There's nothing more frustrating than seeing that when you're itching to take advantage of the cheap dollar and have finally found the perfect dress/shoes/whatever. There are ways around it though.

I've decided to write this as I'm aware that I feature a lot of shoes on US sites and it can be very frustrating to learn that in the age of a global economy, The Rest Of The World doesn't seem to matter or exist.

Option 1 - eBay.com
The US eBay site should be your first stop when looking for stuff you just can't get here. Not only is it likely you'll save on the retail price anyway, the current dollar position means that's even more favourable. Most sellers will ship internationally if you ask them should they not already state they do. As a rule, should be between $11 to $30 depending on the item and the method of shipping. That's still only around £5 to £15 which is pretty good going. For example, I recently won a BCBG Max Azria dress which cost £26 including shipping. RRP? $380 or around £195.

Option 2 - get a US postal address
This is fairly straightforward yet remains something that people just don't seem to know about. I have my US address with Access USA. Most places offer a month by month subscription or a yearly subscription. If you can team up with some people, share the cost of a yearly subscription and shop en masse. They also offer personal shopper services for sites which don't accept international credit cards. Obviously there is a charge for this but even so still works out cheaper than buying here. I use it to raid Sephora and save around a third on all products - great given that I love Benefit and Clinique!

Most sites will accept international cards if you can provide them with ID. Yes, it's a bit of a hassle but worth it in the end.

Option 3 - There are US sites that ship internationally!
You just have to find them! Threadless, Delia's and Pin Up Girl are my personal favourites but the number is growing. Bookmark all your favourite sites and keep checking to see if they've changed their shipping policy. I've found that many that I've emailed have replied saying that they will be doing international shipping "soon" - whenever that may be!

Legal time - be aware that anything that gets shipped to you from anywhere abroad is subject to Customs charges which can be a complete headache to understand. It's always worth factoring this element in to any shopping you do. For proper info on this, head to the HMRC site which gives a good explanation once you've got your head round it!

Shoe Of The Day

For saying that I spend a good proportion of my time in trainers, I thought it was about time to have a few as Shoe Of The Day. So for one week, trainers it is!

To start us off, classics with a twist. Converse Chuck Taylor Hi-tops are essential. Preferably in every colour known to man but especially red, pink and green. These are perfect for summer with a butterfly pattern (huzzah! more stuff with butterflies on for me to covet!) - they'd look suitably cool with shorts or a dress. Yep, I wear my Cons with dresses and I was doing it way before Lily Allen even thought of it!

$47 from Zappos or around £40 in store at Office.

Weak Sauce.

So I was at Neiman Marcus the other day when I saw these shoes. If you saw the runway pictures (right) you'll recognize these as a dumbed down version of their runway gladiator sandal.

Ok, I get it. Designers do this all the time, usually because the runway version is too extreme. I think they did a pretty good job of interpreting the sandal for the masses... BUT... this shoe is over $2,000!!! WTF? How lame is that? Sure there are a lot of details, but two grand? Weak sauce.

If I'm paying two grand on a shoe, it better make me breakfast or something. Pshhh.

Britain's Next Top Model: Where The Ability To Walk In Heels Is Actually Quite Important And Getting Your Hair Cut Is Literally Traumatic...

I had to wait for the third repeat of Episode 2 of BNTM last week and while I kinda wish I hadn't, I'm kinda glad I did. If the opening salvo had me shouting in frustration, lord knows what happened to my blood pressure during this one.

As any fule kno, being able to walk is A Big Deal when it comes to being a model. Sure, everyone can walk - the regular one foot in front of the other schtick - but model walking? That's different. You can't go too fast or too slow. You have to do a weird kinda pony trot but not actually trot or look like your legs are moving in an unnatural way. You Have To Stand Up STRAIGHT! Then there's the pose'n'turn and a whole heap of other things to think about. The other thing you have to do is be able to walk in heels.

You'd think that aspiring wannabes would realise this wouldn't you? Apparently not. Leanne (who's actually my favourite) admitted that she didn't really wear heels and couldn't walk in them. Being given disco shoes by the genius Terry deHavilland wouldn't really do her any favours then.

It didn't do any of them any favours. But then they couldn't walk in their own shoes so quite frankly I was surprised there wasn't any injuries. I know I shouted A Lot at the screen thanks to the sheer awfulness of it all. There followed some guff and nonsense then on to the photoshoot.

For some reason to tenuous to remember the theme was The End Of The Night At A Club. It was all so bad that I began to wonder if they'd even been in a club. The strongest picture by far was Rachael's with the weakest being Martha and Aaron (honestly, I don't have it in for them but they really do suck). For some reason though, they were saved and Musayeroh was eliminated. Possibly for having a ridiculous name that they struggled to spell or pronounce, more likely for being a bit meh.

So onto Episode 3 - The Makeover! In ANTM this guarantees Major Dramz! but then they do tend to go out on a limb and radically alter people's looks. Here we just get a few inches lopped off, a fringe cut in and some pixie cuts.

Still, at least the girls had learnt this lesson - when it's Makeover Time, you have to cry and weep for the scraggy mess atop your head because you simply don't believe that the professionals know what would make you look better. Taking a leaf out of HHPOF! Miz Tyra's book, Lisa was on hand to soothe any tears and tell them to get a grip. Apparently the added twist of covering up all the mirrors until they'd been done heightened the paranoia and tears.

Aaron (Ok so I really don't like her) was worried that her cheapass extensions would leave her bald once they'd managed to detach them but fear not! She got actual proper ones instead! Why is there always one that has really bad extensions? The only dramatic change was for Alex to get her locks lopped for a pixie cut (when will people get over that? It's more rabid than The Rachel) and she did look much better for it.

The task this week was to sit on a bucking bronco and try to sell hairspray. It was as ridiculous as it sounds. Leanne won for not totally sucking and got an 8 hand massage. Lovely.

The photoshoot this week was for a doggy clothing company shot by Nicky Johnston. I love it when they use him because he really says what he thinks and his pictures are great. Most of the girls were overjoyed at having cute little bundles of fluff to pose with. Gerry wisely warned them to not be upstaged by the cuteness and generally they listened.

And whaddya know?! Martha turned out a pretty decent picture! Lisa and Leanne were pretty well matched for best picture with the rest being quite poor. Huggy really doesn't like Lauren and pointed out that yet again she was cross eyed and looked like a bitch (I don't know if she intended the pun or not... I may have done!). Now I thought being cross eyed was one of those things you either are or aren't. Is there some kind of treatment she can get for that? Eye exercise? Surely there must be something the Wii Fit can do?!

Louise felt supremely confident that she'd nailed it this week so it was no surprise that she was the one eliminated though there were worse pictures - yes, that included Aaron who looked like some kind of tranny Amy Winehouse Barbie. Gerry felt exasperated enough to want to send at least four of them home.

I feel your pain Gerry, I feel your pain.

(I was intrigued though by the teaser for next week where one girl is so impressive on a shoot she gets an actual job! Who could it be?!)

Shoe Of The Day

I've been busy today gazing longingly out of the window at the sunshine, mentally putting together summery outfits for the week. When it came to picking today's Shoe I focused on finding a suitably summery style to fit with the mood.

And fell in love with these.

At £90, they are pretty pricey for a canvas trainer. But they are by Jonathan Saunders and Heavens to Betsy are they chic and versatile! And smart enough that you could get away with wearing them to the office should you so wish. I wish.

For Those Who Haven't Heard...

The man himself will be at Barney's in Beverly Hills this Wednesday!!!

If you haven't met him yet, I highly recommend it. He's super sweet and will either sign your shoes or if you ask really nicely, make a one of a kind drawing on your shoe box!! I have one he did for me a couple of years ago framed and hung up in my office. It's super amazing.

Anyway- go meet him. You'll be glad you did. ;)
